Annapurna Ghorepani Poonhill Trek

This is the most popular and panaromic trek from which you can see the whole superb white mountain of the Annapurna range, various flora and fauna, lifestyle of the local people etc

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m)

On the very first day of your trek you will be picked up at the airport by our representative and will be assisted to the hotel where you will be given the brief explanation of your trek and stay overnight.

 

Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m)

This is the second day on which you will drive to Pokhara which is 200 km away from kathmandu. It takes about 6 hours to get to Pokhara and at the end of the day stay overnight in the hotel in Pokhara.

 

Day 03: Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (1540m)

On this day you will drive by a car to Nayapul which takes about 2 hours. On the way to Nayapul you can see the wonderful Fish Tail, Annapurna South, Annapuna II along with other mountains and the whole Pokhara valley as well. From Nayapul you start waliking to Birethanti which is the main entrance of Ghorepani trek. Then the trail climbs gently up to Tikhedhunga along the bank of stream with the beautiful scenery of natural waterfall and local country side which is amazingly mysterious. It takes about 4 hours to get to Tikhedhunga from Nayapul.

 

Day 04: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2800m)

After spending wondeful night in Tikhedhunga the trail descends a bit and crosses a river and climbs up to Ulleri. Ulleri is the biggest village of the Magar community. Then the route ascends to Banthanti, on the way from Tikhedhunga to Banthanti you can observe the picturesque view of Annapurna South and the natural green scenery of the local area. From Banthanti the route commence through a dense forest of rhododendron, magnolia, oak tree to Ghorepani which takes about 3 hours. It takes about 6 hours to reach Ghorepani from Tiikhedhunga altogether.

 

Day 05: Ghorepani to Tadapani (2590m)

Ghorepani is a very nice village situated on top of the hill which is surrounded by the national flower of Nepal called Laligunras (rhododendron). After walking about 45 minutes you will get to Punhill whcih is famous for view point of sunrise and sunset. You can see the whole Annapurna range from Punhill and you can take magnificent pictures of the himalays and countryside. From Ghorepani the route slowly climbs up to Deurali through rhododendron forest which takes about 2 hours. After that the trail descends down to Banthanti where few lodges are available and you can stop for a lunch. Then the trail continues to Tadapani and it takes about 5 hours to get to Tadapani altogether.

 

Day 06: Tadapani to Ghandruk (1940m)

Tadapani is a small village where few lodges are available and which is covered by a jungle. You can see the cultural dances organized by local people. On the other hand you can take a picure of langur along with Annapurna south,Hiunchuli, Machhapuchrre (fishtail). Then the trail descends constantly to Gandruk through a dense green forest with the lovely view of various natural flowers. It takes about 4 hours  from Tadapani to Ghandruk.

 

Day 07: Ghandruk to Nayapul (1070m)

Ghandruk is a huge and culturally rich village especially inhabitated by Gurung community. Here you can see the old Gurung’s museum and mainly the lovely scenery of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre (Fish tail) and the natural beauty. After that the trail descends down to Nayapul which takes about 4hours.From Nayapul you will drive by a car to Pokhara and stay overnight.

 

Day 08: Pokhara to Kathmandu

Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara remembering the wonderful moments of the trek

  Annapurna Base Camp Trek (17 days)

 

This route in the Annapurna Base Camp to the site of Annapurna Sanctuary is a spectacular trek. Although it has some steep to climb, the trek is not difficult. This trek is a fine opportunity to surround you itself by Himalayan peaks within a short time without having to confront with altitude and flight problem. It is advisable to allow two weeks to fully appreciate the high altitude scenery.

 

Itinerary:

 

Day 01: Kathmandu:

Arrival in Kathmandu airport where you will be welcomed by our hotel representative and will be assisted to the hotel and will be given a brief explanation about your trek.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara:

Drive to Pokhara which is 200 K.m. away from Kathmandu and stay overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 03: Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (1540)

After 45 km drive from Pokhara via Naudanra, kaahre, and Lumla village the trek commences at Nayapool, from where the trail descends steeply to Birethanti. Then it follows to the east bank of the Bhurungdi khola to reach Tikhedhunga.

Day 04: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2855m)

The trail ascends to Ulleri village pleasantly through Rhododendron forest and reaches the top of Ghorepani pass and stay overnight in Ghorepani. The trail follows up to a stone staircase, which is beleived to have more than 3300 steps. You can have a marvelous view of Dhaulagiri I, Tukche, Neelgiri, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli and Tarke Kang from Ghorepani.

Day 05: Ghorepani to Tadapani.(2590m)

Early in the morning we trek to Poonhill where one may witness a truely memorable sunrise from Poonhill one can view over 30 white-capped peaks, comprising the whole Annapurna range. After breakfast walk to Tadapani

Day 06:Tadapani to chomrong (2170m)

Tadapani offers good views of the Upper Modi valley. The route starts with a long ascent high above the west bank of Modi khola. Chomrong village lies at the base of Hiunchuli {6441m}

Day 07: Chomrong to Himalayan hotel (2873m)

The trail continues Khuldi Ghar after about 3 hrs and from where very steeply to its rocky bankside before leveling out and running through thickets of bamboo at the bottom of the gorge keeping always on the west side of the river, the pasture of Tomoe is passed. At the very neck of the gorge at panchen barah there is small trail and a shrine. The trail then climbs to the Himalayan Hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 08: Himalayan hotel to Machhapuchhre base camp (3700m)

From the Himalayan Hotel, it is about an hour walk initially on a rocky trail through forests, then up a steep ravine to Hinko at 2960m. The trail crosses a ravine and a major avalanche track just beyond Hinko, after which it climbs through large boulders. Approximately half an hour beyond Hinko is Deurali at 3000m. Here as the trail continues into

the sanctuary,it crosses two wide avalanche tracks via a narrow trial that huddles up against the cliffs. The trail then descends to meet the Modi khola and follows the river to Bager we climb across more as Machharpchhre Base Camp {MBC} at an elevation of 3480m overnight stay here where one can have panormic views of Hiunchuli, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, and Ggangapurna and Machhapuchhre.

 

 

Day 09: MBC to Annapurna Base Camp abc (4100m.)

Treak around two-hour climb up to abc, There are tremendous views of vertical south face Annapurna above. Back to Machhapuchre Base Camp (mbc) or Deurali.

 

Day 10: ABC to Deurali to Bamboo (2310 m.)

Descend via the same route to the Himalayan hotel.

Day 11: Bamboo to Chomorong (2010 m.)

Follow the same trial to Chomorong for overnight stay. The road down the hill is much easier even if you want to explore in the morning you will not expect problem getting Chomrong.

Day 12: Chomrong to Ghandruk (1990 m.)

Follow the route back at Taglung at the junction of the trail from Landrung and New Bridge. We stay on the wide main trail, walking west above the potato and Wheat fields of Taglung before descending gently through forests. The trail then drops steeply on switchbacks to Kimrong village situated above the Khumnu Khola at 1720m. After crossing the suspension bridge at Khumnu Khola or Kimrong village, the trail makes a steep climb to teahouse at Uri situated on a pass at 2200m, the trail descends gently to Ghandruk village {1940m} for an overnight stay.

Day 13: Ghandruk to Tolkha (1710m.)

Descend through the paved courtyards of Ghandruk village past teahouse after crossing the stream on a suspension bridge the trail  emerges into the Modi Khola valley and reaches Tolkha,a small settlements at 1710m.

Day 14: Tolkha to Dhampus (1510 m.)

The trail descends a forested path paved with stones. It continue its descent past several teahouse at Bheri Kharha to the head of the canyon and the ridge at Dhampus at 1510m where you can find many hotels for the accommodation.

Day 15: Dhampus to Phedi to Pokhara

A few hundred meters along a trail to the road that descends to a taxi stand take a taxi or other transportation back to Pokhara to finish your trek.

Day 16:  Pokhara to Kathmandu

Drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara for your further destination, which takes about 7 hours.

Day 17: Departure transfer to airport.
